Penny Olivier's debut 6-song EP, Live at the Nuthouse, is proof that she can win over a crowd who is used to Kansas City's finest performing songwriters. Her contemporary folk style fits right in with her fine lyrics about relying on her own wisdom and strength as a woman when times get tough. You'll find hints of Suzanne Vega in her song, Three Shades of Invisible, and some fabulous lead guitar supplied by Doc Fuller. I think this performance will win you over, too.
